NOTE: This procedure diagnosis a NO MODULE COMMUNICATIONS condition.E1- CHECK FUSE 9
- Turn ignition switch "OFF".
- Remove fuse 9 (10A) from fuse junction panel.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance across fuse terminals.
- Is resistance of fuse 5 ohms or less?
YES - Go to E3.
No - Go to E2.
E2- CHECK CIRCUIT 601 FOR SHORTS TO GROUND
- Disconnect anti-lock brake control module connector C1057.
- Using an ohmmeter connected to a known good ground, measure resistance at module connector Pin C1057-14, Circuit 601 (LB/PK).
- Is resistance greater than 10K ohms?
YES - Replace anti-lock control module. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Service Circuit 601 (LB/PK) for short to ground as required. Replace Fuse 9 (10A). Restore vehicle. Retest system.
E3- CHECK FOR B+ AT ABS CONTROL MODULE
- Reinstall Fuse 9 (10A).
- Disconnect anti-lock brake control module connector C1057.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Using a voltmeter, measure voltage at module connector Pin C1057-14, Circuit 601 (LB/PK).
- Is voltage 10 volts or more?
YES - Go to E5.
No - Go to E4.
E4- CHECK CIRCUIT 601 FOR AN OPEN
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect fuse junction panel connector C225.
- Disconnect anti-lock brake module connector C1057.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance from fuse junction panel connector Pin C225-17 to anti-lock brake module connector Pin C1057-14, Circuit 601 (LB/PK).
- Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
YES - Go to E5.
No - Service open circuit 601 (LB/PK) as required. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
E5- CHECK CIRCUIT 570 FOR OPEN
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect anti-lock brake module connector C1057.
- Connect an ohmmeter to a known good ground.
- Measure resistance from ground to module connector Pin C1057-1, Circuit 570 (BK/W).
- Measure resistance from ground to module connector Pin C1057-21, Circuit 570 (BK/W).
C1057-1 - Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
YES - Diagnose open Data communication link (DLC) Circuit 70 (LB/W).
No - Service Circuit 570 (BK/W) for open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
