Removal

1. NOTE: The liftgate weatherstrip may contain a stringy sealer which can stick to the liftgate opening when the liftgate weatherstrip is removed. Cover the interior trim panels to prevent getting sealer on them.

Remove the liftgate weatherstrip by grasping at the bottom of the liftgate opening and pulling straight off. Move up the sides of the opening while continuing to pull lingate weatherstrip off. Discard worn/damaged liftgate weatherstrip.




2. Remove and discard any remaining sealer from flanges.

3. Correct any damage to the weatherstrip mounting flange with locking pliers or a hammer.

4. NOTE: Liftgate door weatherstrips are mechanically retained. No adhesive is required for retention.

Locate upper moulded corners of liftgate weatherstrip at upper corners of liftgate opening. Locate ends of weatherstrip at latch.
