Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC)

THREE WAY CATALYTIC CONVERTER
The Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC) contains either platinum and rhodium or palladium and rhodium. The TWC converter catalyzes the oxidation reactions of unburned Hydrocarbons (HC) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the reduction reaction of Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx). The three-way conversion only occurs with the air fuel/ratio near stoichiometry.
