F11 Check Circuit 679 (GY/BK) For Open Circuit
- Using a jumper wire connected to a known good ground, connect other end to Circuit 679 (GY/BK) at vehicle speed sensor connector C1043.
- Measure resistance.
Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
Yes
GO to F12.
No
SERVICE Circuit 679 (GY/BK) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
F12 Check Circuit 676 (PK/O) For Open Circuit
- Connect ohmmeter to vehicle speed sensor connector C1043, Circuit 676 (PK/O).
- Measure resistance to known good ground.
Is resistance 5 ohms or less?
Yes
Go to F13.
No
SERVICE Circuit 676 (PK/O) for open circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
F13 Check Indicator Terminals To Cluster Circuit Connector
- Disconnect instrument cluster connectors C250 and C251.
- Using ohmmeter, measure resistance of speedometer indicator terminals to printed circuit where they seat.
Is resistance 1 ohm or less at each indicator terminal?
Yes
Go to F14
No
REPLACE contact indicator terminals as described under Instrument Cluster Printed Circuit Removal and Installation. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
F14 Check Printed Circuit
- Reconnect cluster connectors.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance from speedometer contact clips to instrument cluster connector according to chart.

Is resistance less than 1 ohm at all circuits?
Yes
REPLACE speedometer assembly. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
No
REPLACE instrument cluster printed circuit. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
