Engine Oil Dip Stick - Dip Stick Tube: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove bolt retaining water thermostat housing bracket to the A/C compressor brace tube to LH cylinder head.
3. Lower vehicle.
4. Remove radiator lower hose tube retaining bolt from the LH cylinder head and position the lower radiator hose tube out of the way.
5. Remove oil level indicator tube retaining bolt from LH cylinder head.
6. Using a twisting motion, remove oil level indicator tube from lower cylinder block.

INSTALLATION

NOTE: Inspect O-ring prior to installing oil level indicator tube and replace if required.

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Tighten oil level indicator bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
3. Tighten lower radiator hose tube retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
4. Tighten the water thermostat housing bracket retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
