B1318-1 CHECK POWER TO ABS MODULE
Disconnect anti-lock brake wiring connector C1057 from anti-lock brake module.
- Connect breakout box and ABS test adapter to the ABS control module harness connector C1057.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Using a digital multi-meter, measure voltage between breakout box pins 14 and 1.
- Is there a minimum of 10 volts DC?
YES - Go To B1318-5
No - Go To B1318-2

B1318-2CHECK ABS MODULE GROUND FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between breakout box Pin 1 and a known good ground.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Go To B1318-3
No - Service Circuit 570 (BK/W) for an open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

B1318-3 CHECK ABS CONTROL MODULE POWER CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
- Remove and inspect Fuse 9 (10A) at fuse junction panel.
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between breakout box Pin 14 and a known good ground.
- Is resistance less than 10K ohms?
YES - Service Circuit 601 (LB/PK) for short to ground. Replace fuse (10A) with a new fuse. Restore vehicle. retest system.
No - Go To B1318-4

B1318-4 CHECK ABS MODULE POWER CIRCUIT FOR CONTINUITY
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between Fuse 9 (10A) and Breakout box Pin 14.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Go to B1314-5.
No - Service Circuit 601 (LB/PK) for an open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

B1318-5 CHECK ABS PUMP MOTOR VOLTAGE
- Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage between breakout box Pin 2 and a known good ground.
- Is there a minimum of 10 volts?
YES - Go to B1314-6
No - Go to B1318-9

B1318-6 CHECK ABS PUMP MOTOR SUPPLY FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- At power distribution box, carefully remove and inspect Fuse 13 (40A).
- Using an ohmmeter, measure continuity between breakout box pin 2 and a known good ground.
- Is resistance less than 10K ohms?
YES - Service Circuit 532 (O/Y) for short to ground. Replace fuse 13 (40A) with a new fuse as required. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Go To B1318-7.

B1318-7 CHECK PUMP MOTOR SUPPLY FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT
- Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between Fuse 13 (40A) and Pin 2 of breakout box.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Go to B1318-9.
No - Service Circuit 532 (O/Y) for an open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

B1318-8 CHECK ABS PUMP MOTOR GROUND STRAP CIRCUIT FOR OPEN

ABS Module/HCU Ground Strap:

- Verify pump motor ground strap is secured to the body side rail.
- Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between the pump motor ground terminal and a known good ground.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Go To B1318-9
No - Replace ground strap. Restore vehicle. Retest system.

B1318-9 CHECK ABS VALVE POWER CIRCUIT
- Using a voltmeter, measure the voltage between breakout box Pin 13 and a known good ground.
- Is there a minimum of 10 volts?
YES - B1318 diagnosis complete. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Go to B1318-10.

B1318-10 CHECK ABS VALVE POWER CIRCUIT FOR SHORT TO GROUND
- At power distribution box, carefully remove and inspect Fuse 18 (30A).
- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between breakout box Pin 13 and a known good ground.
- Is resistance less than 10K ohms?
YES - Service Circuit 533 (T/R) for a short to ground. Replace Fuse 18 (30A) with a new fuse. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Go to B1318-11.

B1318-11 CHECK ABS VALVE RELAY POWER FEED CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between Fuse 18 (30A) and Pin 13 of breakout box.
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES - Replace Anti-lock Control Module. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
No - Service Circuit 533 (T/R) for an open. Restore vehicle. Retest system.
