Component Tests and General Diagnostics

1. NOTE: Use an ohmmeter such as Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 or equivalent to test the roof sliding panel switch.

With the roof sliding panel switch in the NEUTRAL position, there should be no resistance between any terminals and terminal 8.

2. When the raised portion of the roof sliding panel switch is pushed (to close the roof opening glass), there should be resistance between Terminal 4 and Terminal 8. All other terminals should be disconnected from 4 and 8.

3. When the indented portion of the roof sliding panel switch is pushed (to open the roof opening glass), there should be resistance between Terminals 5 and 8. All other terminals should be disconnected from 5 and 8.

4. If the portion of the roof sliding panel switch marked UP is pressed (to tilt the roof opening glass up), there should be resistance between Terminals 6 and 8. All other terminals should be disconnected from 6 and 8.

If the portion of the roof sliding panel switch marked DOWN is pressed (to close the tilted up roof opening glass), there should be resistance between Terminals 7 and 8. All other terminals should be disconnected from 7 and 8.

If the roof sliding panel switch does not test as described, replace the roof sliding panel switch.
