The power steering pressure switch sends a variable voltage signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to control engine speed under load conditions. If the power steering pressure switch is suspect, check the power steering pressure (PSP) circuitry using the Rotunda 60 pin Breakout Box 007-00033 or equivalent. If circuitry is continuous, replace the power steering pressure switch.
