Fuel Injector Wiring Harness: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Remove upper intake manifold.
3. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC), vacuum transducer and Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor.
4. Disconnect fuel charging wiring at connectors from the radio ignition interference capacitor, ignition coil, Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor, Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor, oil pressure sensor, and Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) located in LH exhaust manifold.
5. Remove wire shield bracket and disconnect retainers for fuel charging wiring from engine front cover brackets.
6. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from retainer located on the RH valve cover retainer stud bolts and remove fuel charging wiring.
7. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten retainers securely. Verify all electrical connections.
