EGR Backpressure Transducer: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Disconnect Idle Air Control (IAC) valve air tube from upper intake manifold fitting and remove tube.
4. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) backpressure transducer.
5. Disconnect EGR backpressure transducer hoses from EGR backpressure transducer.
6. Remove EGR backpressure transducer retaining nuts and EGR backpressure transducer from EGR backpressure transducer bracket.
7. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten EGR backpressure transducer retaining nuts to 5-7 Nm (44-62 lb in).
