Tachometer: Description and Operation

The tachometer is an electrically driven instrument which indicates engine speed in Revolutions Per Minute (RPM). The tachometer receives an electrical signal from the low tension side of the Ignition Control Module (ICM) which is converted to the pointer movement on the rpm scale.
