D ABS Lamp Always on, No DTC

- Perform Inspection and Verification before performing this pinpoint test.
- To clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code, Erasing. Clearing Trouble Codes

Anti-Lock Brake Indicator Always "ON" And No DTC's Retrieved (With Brake Warning Indicator "OFF", Parking Brake Released And Brake Lining Wear Checked)

D1- Check Anti-Lock Brake Indicator Lamp Operation
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Observe the anti-lock brake indicator lamp function.
- Does the anti-lock brake indicator lamp turn "OFF" after a 10 second On-Board Diagnostic self test?
YES
- Drive vehicle to determine if the anti-lock brake indicator turns "ON". If anti-lock brake indicator tuns "ON" and OFF" during the test drive, service partial/intermittent short in harness and go to D2.
NO - Go to D2.

D2- Check For Shorted 31S
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect connector C129 from anti-lock control module.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Does the anti-lock brake indicator lamp remain "OFF"?
YES
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF" and go to D3.
NO - Service circuit 31S (BK/R) for short to ground. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

D3- Check ABS Module
- Inspect, clean and reconnect C129 to HCU.
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Observe the anti-lock brake indicator lamp.
- Does the anti-lock brake indicator lamp turn "ON"?
YES
- Replace HCU. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system. If fault reappears during retest, replace the HCU.
NO - System is operational. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
