Rear Door Window Glass: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove rear door trim panel and watershield.
3. Carefully pry inside rear door trim from rear door.






4. Carefully pry outside rear door trim from rear door.
5. For manual windows, place window regulator handle on rear door manual window regulator. Install battery ground cable and window regulator control switch for power windows.






6. Lower rear door window glass to align rear door window regulator-to-rear door window glass retaining bolts with access holes in rear door.
7. Remove window regulator handle from rear door manual window regulator for manual windows. Disconnect battery ground cable and window regulator control switch for power windows.
8. Remove two bolts retaining rear door window regulator to rear door window glass.

NOTE: The help of a second person will be needed to perform this procedure.






9. Pull rear door glass outside weatherstrip from rear door.
10. Have second person raise rear door window glass and hold in a near-closed position.






11. Loosen but do not remove rear door window regulator retaining bolts.
12. Slide the top rear door window regulator retaining bolts forward in slots in rear door.
13. Slide the bottom rear door window regulator retaining bolts upward and out of inner door panel. Allow rear door window regulator to drop inside rear door.
14. Lower rear door window glass into rear door past bottom of rear door glass run inside of rear door.






15. Have second person raise rear door window glass past the rear door glass runs and out of rear door.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse Removal procedure.
2. Tighten rear door window regulator-to-rear door window glass retaining bolts to 8 Nm (71 in lb).
3. Tighten rear door window regulator-to-rear door retaining bolts to 5 Nm (44 in lb).
