Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customers concern by operating the power windows/heated back window to duplicate the concern.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Power window regulator damaged.
^ Window run damaged.
^ Door window glass out of window run.
^ Window glass broken.

Electrical
^ Circuits open/shorted.
^ Loose, corroded connectors.
^ Damaged window regulator control switch.
^ Damaged window regulator electric drive.
^ Fuse Windows (40 A).
^ In-line circuit breaker.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
