Component Tests and General Diagnostics

DESCRIPTION
Consider the following factors when diagnosing bearing condition:
1. General condition of all parts during disassembly and inspection.
2. Classify the concern with the aid of the Illustration.
3. Determine the cause.
4. Make all services following procedures as outlined.

BEARING CUPS
Inspect the bearing races for any damage and defects. Replace as necessary.

BEARING CONE AND ROLLER ASSEMBLIES
Inspect for pitting, scoring, flecking, corrosion and deformed cages. Replace the bearing cone and roller assemblies if any of these conditions exist. Replace the mating bearing cone and roller assembly if the race is being replaced.
