The selector housing assembly is mounted on top of the transaxle case. The selector interlock is located inside the selector housing. The selector interlock holds a selected gear engaged until another gear is selected. The interlock cam is detented and is located on a sleeve attached to the inner selector gate. A spring-loaded ball is forced out against the cam to engage the interlock. The back-up lamp switch is mounted to the side of the selector housing. The interlock cam has three positions:
^ first, third and fifth gears
^ neutral
^ second, fourth and reverse gears
