Disassembly
1. Mount transaxle in Bench Mounted Holding Fixture T57L-500-B.
Clutch Slave Cylinder Components:
2. Disconnect pressure line and bleeder screw from clutch slave cylinder. Remove three clutch slave retaining bolts and remove clutch slave cylinder from transaxle clutch housing.
3. Remove six bolts retaining control select lever cover.
4. Remove LH and RH axle shaft seals. Do not damage transaxle housing.
5. Remove roll pin retaining the speedometer driven gear assembly and remove the assembly.
6. Remove shifter shaft seal using Selector Shaft Seal Remover/Replacer T94P-7025-HH.
7. Remove 16 bolts retaining transaxle housing to clutch housing. Note length and location of bolts for reassembly. Do not remove dowels.
8. Use a block of wood and pry bar, apply force at the location shown to separate the transaxle housings.
9. Lift the transaxle housing off the clutch housing.
10. Lift out differential assembly. Remove magnet.
11. Pull the long and short selector fork rails from the case. Remove the 1st/2nd gear shift fork.
3-4 Shift Fork Removal:
12. Swing the 5th/reverse gear shift fork to the side. Rotate and remove the 3rd/4th gear shift fork.
13. Remove two reverse idler gear shaft mounting bracket retaining bolts. Swing input and output shafts to the side. Remove reverse idler gear shaft mounting bracket.
14. With the input and output shafts moved to the side, remove the reverse idler gear.
15. Lift input and output shafts out of the case together.
16. Remove bolt retaining the main shift control shaft block (IF 105) to the shift lever shaft. Remove shift lever shaft.
17. Remove outer shift lever shaft bushing using Selector Shaft Bearing Remover/Replacer T94P-7025-DH.
18. Remove inner shift lever shaft bearing assembly using Selector Shaft Bearing Remover/Replacer T94P-7025-DH.
Bearing Race Removal:
19. Use Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A to remove differential bearing race from case
20. Remove input shaft bearing race and shims from case using Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A.
21. Remove output shaft bearing race and shims from the case using Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A.
22. Remove differential bearing race and shims from the case using Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A.
23. Remove input shaft bearing race from case using Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A.
24. Remove output shaft bearing race from case using Puller T58L-101-B and Stator and Driven Sprocket Bearing Remover T86P-70043-A.
25. Remove three bolts retaining reverse idler gear shaft.
26. Use a brass punch to drive out reverse idler gear shaft.
