Assembly

1. Install needle bearing, 2nd gear and 2nd synchronizer ring to the output shaft.

1-2 Synchronizer Orientation:

2. Install 1st/2nd gear synchronizer assembly with small collar facing out. Install snap ring.





3. Install 1st gear synchronizer ring, needle bearing and 1st gear to the output shaft.





4. Press pinion gear onto output shaft using a suitable driver. Install a new snap ring.

CAUTION: Pinion gear can only be installed to output shaft splines in one direction.





5. Press tapered roller bearing onto the output shaft using a suitable driver.





6. Install needle bearing, 5th gear and reverse gear synchronizer ring to the output shaft.

Synchronizer Components:

7. Assemble compression springs, hub inserts and detent balls to the synchronizer hub. Install synchronizer outer ring.

5-R Synchronizer Orientation:

8. Install the fifth/reverse gear synchronizer assembly to the output shaft with the small collar facing out. Install a new snap ring.





9. Install upper fifth/reverse gear synchronizer ring, needle bearing and reverse gear to output shaft.





10. Press tapered roller bearing to output shaft using suitable driver.
