Synchronizer Ring: Description and Operation

Synchronizer sleeves are splined to the hub. Each hub is splined to the input or output shaft. Synchronizer rings have a tapered friction surface on the inside and blocker teeth on the outside. This synchronizer assembly does not use retaining rings or exterior springs to hold synchronizer assemblies together.
