Synchronizer Hub: Testing and Inspection

Check synchronizer for:
^ worn or damaged splines, synchronizer key groove, or end surface.





^ Check for the smooth hub to sleeve movement when it is installed.
Check synchronizer shift ring for:
^ worn or damaged hub splines or shift ring groove.
^ excessive clearance between the shift ring and shift fork.
Check synchronizer keys and springs for:
^ worn key.
^ bent spring.
