Removal
1. Remove battery from vehicle.2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Remove one bolt and position power distribution box out of way.
4. Remove seven bolts and battery tray from vehicle.
5. Remove two screws from A/C accumulator bracket and position the A/C suction accumulator/dryer out of way to gain removal room for main control cover removal.
CAUTION: Use extreme care not to place excessive pressure on A/C lines and fittings when disconnecting or repositioning A/C components. Excessive pressure may cause component damage and A/C system leaks.
NOTE: On some vehicles, it may be necessary to disconnect and position the A/C suction accumulator/dryer out of the way to allow enough room for main control cover removal.
6. Disconnect transmission range (TR) sensor electrical connector.
7. Remove two bolts and TR sensor from transaxle.
8. Disconnect transaxle harness electrical connector.
9. Place drain pan under main control cover.
10. Disconnect transaxle cooler inlet line from transaxle and position out of way.
11. Remove 14 bolts, main control cover and gasket from transaxle.
12. Remove wire harness clip from main control valve body assembly.
13. Remove 12 mounting bolts from main control valve body assembly.
14. Carefully lift main control valve body assembly away from case while simultaneously disconnecting the manual valve link.
NOTE: Use caution not to damage the manual valve when disconnecting the manual valve from the manual valve link.
15. Squeeze retaining tabs on the solenoid valve body harness connector and push solenoid valve body connector harness connector down through transaxle case. Remove main control valve body assembly from vehicle.
