Cable Replacement
REMOVAL1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove nuts and center underbody heat shield.
3. Remove nuts and front underbody heat shield.
4. Disconnect shift cable and bracket from gearshift selector lever stud.
5. Pull transaxle shift cable and bracket plastic snap retainer from bracket to remove.
6. Lower vehicle.
7. Disconnect shift cable and bracket from manual control lever stud on transaxle.
8. Remove two bolts retaining shift cable and bracket to the top of transaxle case.
9. Remove shift cable and bracket by guiding out through engine compartment.
INSTALLATION
1. From engine compartment, feed the shift cable and bracket between engine and dash panel under the vehicle.
2. Install two bolts retaining shift cable and bracket to the top of transaxle case. Tighten bolts to 20-25 Nm (15-18 ft. lbs.).
3. Snap transaxle shift cable and bracket end on the manual control lever stud.
4. Raise vehicle on hoist.
5. Press shift cable and bracket plastic snap retainer into bracket to install shift cable and bracket.
6. Connect shift cable and bracket to gearshift level stud.
7. Install front and center underbody heat shields and nuts.
8. Lower vehicle.
