Battery Tray Replacement

REMOVAL
1. Remove battery from vehicle.

WARNING: THE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY MUST BE DEPLETED BEFORE ANY AIR BAG COMPONENT SERVICE IS PERFORMED. TO DEPLETE BACKUP POWER SUPPLY ENERGY, FIRST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE, THEN DISCONNECT THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE AND WAIT ONE MINUTE TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.

NOTE
- When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its fuel trim. The vehicle may need to be driven 18 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the fuel trim.
- When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, volatile memory information will be lost. The affected systems will have to be programmed by the technician or customer. These systems include: radio station presets, clock settings and customer input keyless entry codes.

2. Remove battery insulation from battery tray.
3. Remove power distribution box retaining bolt from battery tray and position power distribution box aside.
4. Remove battery tray retaining bolts from LH front fender apron.
5. Remove battery tray from vehicle.







INSTALLATION
1. Position battery tray to front fender apron in engine compartment.
2. Install retaining bolts. Tighten each to 8-12 Nm (6-8 lb-ft).
3. Install power distribution and retaining bolt to battery tray. Tighten retaining bolt to 8-12 Nm (6-8 lb-ft).
4. Install battery.
5. Tighten hold-down bracket nuts to 3-5 Nm (27-44 lb-in).
