Fog/Driving Lamp Switch: Description and Operation
The fog lamp switch is part of the headlamp switch.Power is provided to the fog lamp relay through the low beam terminal on the dimmer switch. This allows the fog lamps to only be operated with the low beam headlamps.
With the fog lamp switch on and the dimmer switch in the low beam position, power is provided to the coil side of the fog lamp relay. The coil pulls the normally open contacts closed. This provides power from the circuit protection in the power distribution box, in the engine compartment, to the fog lamps, and to the fog lamp indicator.
Ground for the fog lamp relay is provided through Circuit 31 (BK/R).
Ground for the fog lamps and fog lamp indicator is provided through Circuit 31 (BK).
