Safing Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect positive battery cable and wait one minute for back-up power supply energy to be depleted.
3. Remove Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
4. Disconnect [1][2]safing sensor electrical connector.
5. Remove two retaining bolts and [1][2]safing sensor and bracket from RH kick panel.






INSTALLATION
1. Position [1][2]safing sensor and bracket to RH kick panel and secure with two retaining bolts. Tighten bolts to 9-13 Nm (80-115 lb in).
2. Connect safing sensor electrical connector.
3. Install PCM.
4. Reconnect positive battery cable.
5. Reconnect battery ground cable.
6. Prove out air bag system.
