Cylinder Functional
NOTE: The following procedure applies to vehicles that have a functional ignition lock cylinder and the lock cylinder keys are available for these vehicles, or the lock cylinder key numbers are known and the proper key can be made.
REMOVAL
1. Place ignition key in lock cylinder.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove steering column shrouds.
Ignition Lock Cylinder Removal:
4. Turn ignition lock cylinder to the accessory position.
5. Place a 3.17 mm (0.125 inch) diameter wire pin or small drift punch in hole at top of lock cylinder housing.
6. Press ignition lock cylinder retaining pin while pulling ignition lock cylinder from lock cylinder housing.
INSTALLATION
1. Install new ignition lock cylinder by turning it to accessory position and pressing retaining pin in.
2. Insert ignition lock cylinder into lock cylinder housing.
3. Turn ignition lock cylinder to the OFF position. This will permit ignition switch lock cylinder retaining pin to extend into the hole in the lock cylinder housing.
4. Rotate the ignition lock cylinder, using lock cylinder key, to ensure correct mechanical operation.
5. Install steering column shrouds.
6. Connect battery ground cable.
