Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Remove the engine intake air resonator from throttle body.
3. Disconnect fuel charging wiring from Throttle Position (TP) sensor.
4. Remove TP sensor retaining screws.
5. Remove TP sensor.
INSTALLATION
Note: Observe Service Precautions.
1. Install TP sensor. Make sure that rotary tangs on sensor are in proper alignment.
2. Secure TP sensor to throttle body with retaining screws. Tighten to 3 Nm (27 lb in).
3. Connect fuel charging wiring to TP sensor.
4. Install the engine intake air resonator to the throttle body.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
