Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Observe fuel pressure release procedures, depressurize fuel system using Multi-Port Fuel Injection (MFI) Fuel Pressure Gauge T80L-9974-B.
2. Remove push connect fittings at both ends of the fuel filter.
3. Install retainer clips in each connect fitting.

NOTE: The flow arrow direction should be positioned forward and downward to ensure proper flow of fuel through replacement fuel filter.

4. Remove fuel filter from bracket by loosening worm gear mounting clamp enough to allow fuel filter to pass through.

INSTALLATION
1. Install fuel filter in bracket. Locate the fuel filter against tab at lower end of bracket.
2. Install push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter.
3. Tighten worm gear mounting clamp to 2 N.m (18 lb-in).
4. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
