Air Induction System
AIR INDUCTION
All engines are equipped with:
Replaceable dry-type Air Cleaner Element (ACL).
MAF sensor.
The air induction system supplies clean air to the throttle body. it operates as follows:
Outside air enters from the air cleaner intake resonator through an opening in the front fender and then moves into the ACL.
Once in the engine air cleaner, air is filtered through the ACL element.
The filtered air travels through the MAF sensor to the air cleaner outlet tube, engine intake air resonators (if equipped) and into the throttle body.
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system is also supplied clean air through a fitting on the air cleaner outlet tube.
AIR INDUCTION NOISE
Air induction noise is effectively eliminated by means of the following:
The air cleaner intake resonator
A sealed and tuned resonance chamber created by the engine air cleaner
An engine intake air resonator, located between the engine air cleaner and the throttle body.
