Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor changes resistance in response to intake air temperature. It provides a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) indicating the temperature of the incoming air by the resistance decreasing as the surrounding air temperature increases.
