EGR Backpressure Transducer: Service and Repair
REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from EGR backpressure transducer.
3. Disconnect Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) backpressure transducer sensor hoses from EGR backpressure transducer.
4. Remove EGR backpressure transducer sensor retaining screws and EGR backpressure transducer from bracket located on dash panel.
5. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten EGR backpressure transducer retaining screws securely.
