Headlamp Dimmer Switch: Description and Operation
MULTI-FUNCTION SWITCHThe multi-function switch controls the following:
^ Turn signal lamps.
^ Hazard/flasher lamps.
^ High beam headlamps.
^ Flash-to-pass feature.
NORMAL OPERATION
The high beam headlamps and the flash-to-pass feature are controlled by the turn signal lever, which is an integral part of the multi-function switch. To activate the high beam headlamps:
^ Move the turn signal lever away from the driver to the stop position.
^ Releasing the turn signal lever in this position will maintain high beam headlamp operation.
^ To return to low beam headlamp operation move the turn signal lever back toward the drive; to the turn signal lever's normal (center) position.
FLASH-TO-PASS FEATURE
To operate the flash-to-pass feature with the headlamps on low beam:
^ Pull the turn signal lever gently toward the driver to turn on the high-beams.
^ When the turn signal lever is released, the headlamps will return to the low beam operation.
^ If driving without the headlamps on, the flash-to-pass feature will automatically turn on the high beam headlamps until the turn signal lever is released. The high beam headlamps will then turn off.
