Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the stoplamps to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect the stoplamps system to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

Mechanical
^ Damaged stoplamp.
^ Damaged stoplight switch
^ Damaged multi-function switch.

Electrical
^ Open circuit.
^ circuit shorted to power.
^ circuit shorted to ground.
^ Loose/corroded or damaged connector.
^ Damaged harness.
^ Damaged bulbs.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
