Disassembly and Assembly

NOTE: Federal law requires that the odometer in any replacement speedometer must register the same mileage as that registered in the removed speedometer. Since the speedometer mileage cannot be reset on this unit, affix odometer sticker to driver's door pillar and record, date and original vehicle mileage.

DISASSEMBLY







1. Remove instrument panel lamp sockets and miniature bulbs by twisting counterclockwise and pulling out.







2. Separate instrument cluster housing from instrument cluster back plate.







3. Remove three instrument cluster warning lamp lenses.







4. Remove three speedometer retaining screws.
5. Grasp speedometer at the top and bottom using fingers only. Carefully pull the speedometer away from the instrument cluster back plate.







6. Remove retaining screw and remove tachometer from instrument cluster by carefully pulling the face of tachometer assembly away from instrument cluster back plate.

CAUTION: Tachometer is calibrated at factory. Excessive rough handling could disturb calibration.

7. Remove engine coolant temperature gauge retaining screw and remove carefully by pulling it away from instrument cluster back plate.
8. Remove retaining screw and remove fuel gauge assembly carefully by pulling the fuel gauge away from instrument cluster back plate.
9. Squeeze and remove all snap-in gauge connector clips.







10. From the front side of the instrument cluster back plate, use a small flat-nosed drift to push in pins to release the instrument cluster printed circuit retainers. Remove two instrument cluster printed circuit retainers.
11. Carefully remove instrument cluster printed circuit without bending.

ASSEMBLY
1. Position the instrument cluster printed circuit over the locating pins on instrument cluster back plate.
2. Install two instrument cluster printed circuit retainers to the instrument cluster printed circuit and instrument cluster back plate.
3. Install all instrument panel lamp socket and bulbs by inserting and twisting clockwise until locked into place. Use pliers if required.
4. Install all snap-in gauge connector clips.
5. Align fuel gauge with connector clips and push into instrument cluster back plate. Install and tighten retaining screw.
6. Align engine coolant temperature gauge with connector clips and push into instrument cluster back plate. Install and tighten retaining screw.
7. Align tachometer with connector clips and push into instrument cluster back plate. Install and tighten retaining screw.

CAUTION: Tachometer is calibrated at factory. Excessive rough handling could disturb calibration.

8. Align speedometer with connector clips and push into instrument cluster back plate. Install and tighten three retaining screws.
9. Install three instrument cluster warning lamp lenses onto the instrument cluster back plate.
10. Align mounting tabs and install instrument cluster housing onto instrument cluster back plate.
