Piston Pin: Testing and Inspection
1. Check the outside diameter (OD) of the piston pin and record. If not within specifications, replace pin.
White ... 20.622-20.625 mm.
Red .... 20.625-20.628 mm.
Blue ... 20.628-20.638 mm.
2. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the piston and record. If not within specifications replace piston.
White: 20.635-20.638 mm.
Red: 20.638-20.641 mm.
Blue: 20.641-20.644 mm.
3. Check the inside diameter (ID) of the pin bore in the connecting rod and record. If not 22.94-22.98 mm (0.90315-0.90472 inch) replace connecting rod.
4. Replace any piston pin or connecting rod that is not within specification.
5. Subtract the piston's piston pin bore from the piston pin diameter. The difference is the clearance.
Clearance: 0.010-0.016 mm.
6. Subtract the piston pin diameter from the connecting rod piston pin bore diameter. The pin should be the larger of the two measurements. The difference is the interferance fit.
Connecting Rod Interference Fit ... 0.012-0.061 mm.
7. Replace any component that is not within specification.
