Camshaft, Lifters and Push Rods: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION
The two camshafts (6250) are installed into the cylinder head (6049) and supported in the cylinder head camshaft journals.

DRIVE
A timing belt connects the crankshaft (6303) to the intake camshaft and exhaust camshaft.

END PLAY
Camshaft thrust loads and end play are limited by the No.1 cylinder head camshaft journal caps.

CMP SENSOR
The camshaft position sensor (CMP)(6B288) is located on the cylinder head and is triggered by a high-point on the intake camshaft.
