Radiator Drain Plug: Service and Repair





NOTE:
The radiator draincock (8115) can be replaced without removing the radiator (8005).

REMOVAL
1. Remove splash shield from front of front sub-frame (5C145) and body.
2. Turn the radiator draincock counterclockwise to unscrew and drain cooling system.
3. Unscrew the radiator draincock to the end of the threads and pull the stem from the radiator outlet tank (8054).
4. Remove the radiator draincock from the radiator outlet tank by squeezing the sides together with a pair of needle nose pliers. Then pull the radiator draincock from the radiator outlet tank.

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure seal is on stem of radiator draincock.
2. Push the radiator draincock into the radiator outlet tank opening until it snaps into place.
3. Tighten the radiator draincock by turning clockwise to 0.7-1.4 Nm (6-12 inch lbs.).
4. Install splash shield to the front of the front sub-frame and body. Tighten retaining screws securely.
5. Fill engine coolant.
