Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the engine coolant level indication system to duplicate the vehicle owner's concern.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
- Verify that coolant level in radiator coolant recovery reservoir is proper.
- Check radiator coolant recovery reservoir and hoses for obvious damage or leaks.

Electrical
- Check system fuse.
- Check electrical connections for obvious damage, opens or shorts.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concerns that can readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Testing and Inspection
