REMOVAL




NOTE: Whenever the brake master cylinder reservoir is removed from the brake master cylinder, new seals must be installed.

1. Disconnect brake warning indicator switch.
2. Remove brake master cylinder filler cap from brake master cylinder reservoir.
3. Disconnect hose to hydraulic clutch master cylinder. Drain brake fluid into a suitable container.
4. Unhook retaining lugs from each side of brake master cylinder while lifting on brake master cylinder reservoir.
5. Disconnect primary reservoir port from brake master cylinder by prying upward with rod or long screwdriver.
6. Remove secondary brake master cylinder port in same manner and remove complete brake master cylinder reservoir.
7. Remove seals from brake master cylinder.

INSTALLATION
1. Wet new seals with clean brake fluid and press into brake master cylinder.
2. Wet brake master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid and press brake master cylinder reservoir as an assembly into grommets.
3. Make sure two retaining lugs on brake master cylinder reservoir are securely hooked on brake master cylinder.
4. Connect brake warning indicator switch.
5. On manual transaxle equipped vehicles, connect hose to hydraulic clutch master cylinder.
6. Fill brake master cylinder reservoir with specified brake fluid to 4.0 mm (0.16 inch) below MAX line. Use DOT-3 brake fluid.
7. Check for leaks.
