Rear

CALIPER REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.





3. Remove parking brake rear cable and conduit from parking brake lever and rear disc brake caliper.
4. Remove cotter pin and guide pin.
5. Remove caliper locating pin cover. Remove locating pin.
6. Rotate rear disc brake caliper away from rear brake shoes and linings and rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.

SHOE REMOVAL
^ Remove inner and outer rear brake shoes and linings from the rear disc brake caliper anchor plate.

SHOE INSTALLATION

Piston Removal:





1. Using rear caliper piston adjuster, rotate rear disc brake piston and adjuster clockwise until it is fully seated.
2. Install inner and outer rear brake shoes and linings into rear disc support bracket.
3. Rotate rear disc brake caliper assembly over rear brake shoes and linings.

CALIPER INSTALLATION
1. Remove residue from the rear disc brake caliper locating pin threads and apply thread-lock and sealer to the threads. Apply silicone dielectric grease to the disc brake caliper locating pin shaft and caliper body.
2. Install and tighten disc brake caliper retaining bolt to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
3. Install caliper retaining bolt and locating pin covers.
4. Install guide pin and cotter pin.
4. Install parking brake rear cable and conduit into rear disc brake caliper and parking brake lever.
5. Adjust parking brake by operating the parking brake control several times.
6. Bleed brake system.
7. Install wheel and tire assembly. Tighten lug nuts to 85 Nm (62 ft. lbs.).
8. Lower vehicle and retest.
