J No Traction Control, No DTC, No Indicator Lamp Lit

NOTE:
- Perform Inspection and Verification before performing this pinpoint test.
- To clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code, Erasing. Clearing Trouble Codes

J1- Check Stop Lamps
- Check stop lamp operation.
- Are the stop lamps lit without the brake pedal being applied?
YES
- Service stop lamp circuit. Refer to Lighting and Horns.
NO - Go to J2.

J2- Check Traction Control Switch
- Disconnect the traction control switch.
- Check the continuity between the pins on the traction control switch as follows;
- Pin 1 to 2, Switch "OFF", no continuity.
- Pin 1 to 2, Switch "ON", continuity.
- Pin 2 to 4, Switch "OFF", continuity.
- Pin 2 to 4, Switch "ON", no continuity.
- Does switch operate properly?
YES
- Go to J3.
NO - Replace the traction control switch. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

J3- Check Speed Control Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to "RUN".
- Disconnect the traction control switch.
- Measure the voltage between the traction control switch C268-1, circuit 31S (BK/BL) and ground.
- Is the voltage greater than 10 volts?
YES
- Go to J4.
NO - Diagnose speed control cut-out circuit. Refer to Cruise Control.

J4- Check Circuit 31S (BK/W) For Short To Ground
- Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
- Disconnect connectors C130 and C132 from anti-lock control module and connect breakout box and adapter to harness only.
- Measure the resistance between breakout box pin 7 and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
YES
- Go to J5.
NO - Service circuit 31S (BK/W) for short to ground. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

J5- Check Circuit 31S (BK/W) For Open
- Measure the resistance between breakout box pin 7 and the traction control switch C268-2, circuit 31S(BK/W).
- Is resistance less than 5 ohms?
YES
- Go to J6.
NO - Service Circuit 31S (BK/W) for open. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

J6- Check Traction Control Indicator Lamp
- Remove the breakout box and adapter.
- Inspect, clean and reconnect connectors C130 and C132.
- "START" the vehicle and observe the traction control indicator lamp.
- Cycle the traction control disable switch "ON" then "OFF".
- Does the traction control indicator lamp cycle "ON" and "OFF"?
YES
- The fault was intermittent. The system is operational at this time and no further action is required. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's.
NO - Replace the anti-lock brake control relay and go to J7.

J7- Check Anti-Lock Brake Control Module
- "START" the vehicle and observe the traction control indicator.
- Does the traction control indicator operate properly?
YES
- The fault was corrected in the previous step. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's.
NO - Replace the HCU. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
