Mecatronic I/II

NOTE:
- Perform Inspection and Verification before performing this pinpoint test.
- To clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTC's), refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code, Erasing. Clearing Trouble Codes

APPLICABLE DTC's:
C1011, C1012, C1013, C1026, 1027, C1028, C1056, C1057, C1058, C1071, C1072, C1073, C1195, 1196, C1197, C1211, C1212, C1213, C1247, C1248, C1249, C1243, C1244, C1245, C1138, B2143, C1401, C1402, C1403, C1412, C1413

B1- Check Anti-lock Brake Indicator Lamp
- If connected, remove the breakout box and adapters.
- Disconnect C130 and C132 from anti-lock brake control unit.
- Inspect, clean and reconnect both connectors.
- "START" the engine and observe the anti-lock brake indicator lamp.
- Is the indicator illuminated after 5-10 seconds?
YES
- Replace the anti-lock brake relay and go to B2.
NO - The fault was intermittent. The ABS and traction control system (if equipped) should be considered operational at this time and no further action is required. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.

B2- Check Anti-Lock Brake Control Module
- "START" the engine and observe the anti-lock brake indicator lamp.
- Is the indicator illuminated after 5-10 seconds?
YES
- Replace anti-lock hydraulic control unit. Restore vehicle. Retest System.
NO - The fault was corrected in Step 1. Restore vehicle. Clear DTC's and retest system.
