Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Inspect the components of the power rear view mirror system to determine if any of the mechanical or electrical conditions.

Mechanical
^ Damaged outside rear view mirrors.
^ Damaged outside rear view mirror control.

Electrical
^ Blown fuse.
- Fuse 34 (7.5 A).
- Mirror heater Fuse (7.5 A).
^ Damage to wiring harness.
^ Loose or corroded connections.

2. Flex the harness and connectors at the outside rear view mirror control, and outside rear view mirrors. Look for obvious signs of opens or shorts.
3. Operate the outside rear view mirror control and determine condition.
4. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
5. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
