Keyless Entry Transmitter: Description and Operation
^ The electronic door lock control system includes two four-button (hand-held) keyless entry remote transmitters. Keyless entry remote transmitters are reprogrammable and all keyless entry remote transmitters for the vehicle must be set at the same time. When troubleshooting the system, one keyless entry remote transmitter is essential to perform tests.^ To unlock the driver front door, press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter which is programmed once into the electronic door lock control processor.
NOTE: The electronic door lock control system will not function when the ignition switch is in the RUN or ACC position.
^ This will also disarm the anti-theft alarm control. (if equipped).
^ To unlock both front doors, press the UNLOCK button on the keyless entry remote transmitter a second time within five seconds of the first unlock.
^ If more than five seconds have elapsed since the first press of the UNLOCK button, pressing the UNLOCK button again will only unlock the driver door.
^ To unlock the luggage compartment door press the blue TRUNK button twice on the keyless entry remote transmitter. Two presses are required to prevent inadvertent luggage compartment door opening.
^ To turn on interior lamps and door lock cylinder illumination, press any of the keyless entry remote transmitter buttons-UNLOCK, TRUNK, or PANIC.
^ To lock both doors and arm the anti-theft alarm control, (if equipped), press LOCK button once on the keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ To confirm that both doors have locked, press LOCK button again within five seconds of the first press. This will sound the horn and lock both doors again.
To activate the personal security alarm, press the red PANIC button on the keyless entry remote transmitter. The horn will sound and headlamps and center high stop lamp will flash for a maximum of 2 minutes 47 seconds.
To deactivate the personal security alarm, press the red PANIC button again or turn the ignition switch to RUN.
