Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the door lock control system from the keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ Lock doors from keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ Unlock driver door from keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ Unlock passenger doors from keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ Unlock luggage compartment door from keyless entry remote transmitter.
^ Activate, and then deactivate panic alarm from keyless entry remote transmitter.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

Mechanical
^ Binding latch mechanism.
^ Binding linkage.
^ Misaligned door.
^ Misaligned luggage compartment door.

Electrical
^ Open fuses courtesy Lamp (7.5 A), Radio (7.5 A), Door Locks (20 A).
^ Loose connectors
^ Corroded connectors.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
