Washer Fluid Level Switch: Description and Operation

NOTE: Windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor cannot be serviced separately. If switch needs to be serviced, the windshield washer reservoir must be replaced.

- The windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor is mounted in the windshield washer reservoir.
- It consists of a float and a magnet assembly that opens and closes a reed-type switch.
- When the windshield washer pump is energized, current will flow from the windshield washer reservoir fluid level sensor through the contacts to the windshield wiper control module and illuminates the warning indicator on the instrument cluster.
