Accelerator Cable






REMOVAL and INSTALLATION
1. Using a suitable tool, push the accelerator cable nylon bushing out of the accelerator pedal and shaft arm.
2. Remove the accelerator cable retainer from the accelerator cable housing. The accelerator cable retainer is located inside the vehicle where the accelerator cable housing passes through the dash panel into the passenger compartment.
3. Disconnect the accelerator cable at the throttle body lever by rotating the throttle lever to the Wide Open Throttle (WOT) position and slide cable through slot in the throttle body lever cam.
4. Remove the accelerator cable housing to accelerator cable bracket retaining screw.
5. Remove the accelerator cable housing to dash panel retaining nuts, wiper module support bracket and housing.
6. To install, reverse Removal procedure and make sure accelerator cable retainer is pushed into accelerator cable housing at least 6.35 mm (1/4 inch). Install and tighten accelerator cable housing to accelerator cable bracket retaining screw to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in). Verify accelerator cable moves freely.
