Odometer: Service and Repair

CAUTION: During service, it is important to keep the speedometer face-up as speedometer function will be affected by storage in the face-down position.

NOTE: The speedometer mileage cannot be reset by the technician. A speedometer preset to the correct mileage is available through designated Ford Motor Co. service centers.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable
2. Remove instrument cluster.
3. Remove seven screws retaining instrument cluster mask and instrument cluster main lens assembly.
4. Remove speedometer.

INSTALLATION
1. Position speedometer to the instrument cluster back plate and install.
2. Position instrument cluster mask and instrument cluster main lens assembly to instrument cluster back plate and install seven retaining screws.
3. Install instrument cluster.
4. Connect battery ground cable.
5. Check operation of speedometer.
