Fan Clutch: Description and Operation

The fan clutch (8A616) permits use of a powerful fan blade (8600). A temperature-controlled fluid coupling regulates fan blade speed according to the temperature of the air coming through the radiator core and flowing around the bi-metal spring located on the forward face of the fan clutch. The viscous fan has a normal stop/start noise level.
