Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

The engine coolant temperature sensor is mounted into the engine intake manifold. The signal sent to engine coolant temperature gauge varies with the resistance of engine coolant temperature sensor. At cold coolant temperatures, the engine coolant temperature sensor resistance is high, and at high coolant temperatures the engine coolant temperature sensor resistance is low.
